Twinnies' 5th Birthday Celebration Part 1 - Princesses Cake

Long overdue post...

My darling girls' 5th Birthday, they will be having two cakes each like previous years. They requested Princess cake (using little princess toy as the cake topper) to celebrate at kindy, whereas Castle Cake with their favourite character for the celebration at home.

Both cakes were 6-inches, Enya wanted strawberry cake using fresh strawberry and Myra wanted chocolate cake with 2 layers of filling each cake.

Rapunzel cake decorated with the tower, yup, the tower is leaning hehehe... I was busy decorating the cakes and handed the photo shooting job to Mr. B, sad that most photos are blurred :-(

Cakes were on their way to kindy

The Rapunzel Cake

Rapunzel Theme, plastic toy as centre piece and a "leaning" tower as background. Various types of sugar flowers were placed surrounding the cake top and bottom. In addition, Enya requested the mini "pascal" too.

I made a mistake, the cake was not brought back to room temperature before decorating thus some of the sugar flowers looked soften (melting) due to the condensation of the cake.

Lesson Learnt: Must not forget to thaw cake at room temperature before placing the sugar decorations.

The Rosey Princess Belle

Princess Belle, Myra requested that her cake need be to decorated with a lot, a lot of Roses. All the roses were hand-moulded. The cake was frosted with buttercream, the yellow ruffle seemed to slid downwards after a while.

Busy decorating...

Lesson Learnt: Need to stick the decorations with support i.e. toothpick.

To be continued... For Part 2 - Castle Cake, celebration at home.

Thank you for stopping by ^^
